How to Update the Binance App to the Latest Version on iPhone

2026-03-27 · Install and Setup · 15

Keeping the Binance app on the latest version is important. New versions not only fix known bugs and security vulnerabilities but often bring new features and improved user experience. However, updating the Binance app on iPhone works a bit differently from regular apps — the specific process depends on how you originally installed it. This article covers update methods for each installation type.

Users who haven't installed the Binance app yet can download the latest version directly from the app download page. If you don't have an account yet, register first through our referral link.

Check Your Current App Version

Before updating, see what version you're currently running.

Open the Binance app, go to the profile or settings page — the current version number is usually shown at the bottom, in a format like "v2.x.x." Note this number so you can verify a successful update later.

You can also check in iPhone's "Settings > General > iPhone Storage," find the Binance app, and view version info and storage usage.

Updating an App Downloaded from the App Store

If you originally downloaded the Binance app using a non-local Apple ID through the App Store, the update process is similar to other apps, but you need to switch to the same Apple ID.

Detailed Steps

Step 1: Switch Apple ID

Open the App Store, tap the profile icon in the upper right. Scroll to the bottom and tap "Sign Out." Then sign back in with the Apple ID you originally used to download Binance.

Step 2: Check for Updates

After signing in, tap the profile icon again to enter the account page. Pull down to refresh — the system will check your installed apps for available updates. If a new Binance version is available, it will appear in the "Available Updates" list.

Step 3: Tap Update

Tap the "Update" button next to the Binance app. Wait for the download and installation to complete.

Step 4: Switch Back to Your Regular Apple ID

After the update completes, don't forget to sign out of the foreign Apple ID and switch back to your regular one. This ensures your daily App Store usage for other apps isn't affected.

Enabling Auto-Updates

If you'd rather not do this manually every time, you can enable auto-updates while signed into the foreign Apple ID. Go to "Settings > App Store" and toggle on the auto-download option for "App Updates."

Note, however, that auto-updates for Binance only work when the App Store is signed into the foreign Apple ID. If you switch back to your regular ID, auto-update won't cover Binance.

Updating an App Installed via Direct Download (Enterprise Certificate)

If you originally installed from the Binance website or another channel by downloading the installation package directly, the update process is different.

Option 1: In-App Update Prompt

Some versions of the Binance app have built-in update detection. When a new version is available, opening the app triggers an update prompt. Tap "Update" and the app will redirect through Safari to a download page — follow the instructions to install the new version.

The new version automatically replaces the old one. Your login status and settings are typically preserved.

Option 2: Manually Download the Latest Package

If no in-app update prompt appears, you can proactively check for new versions:

Step 1: Open Safari and visit the Binance download page or the official download page.

Step 2: Check the latest version number shown on the page against your currently installed version.

Step 3: If there's a newer version, tap the download button.

Step 4: Follow the prompts to install. During installation, the system may ask "Replace existing app?" — confirm to proceed.

Step 5: After installation, check "Settings > General > VPN & Device Management." If the new version uses a new enterprise certificate, you'll need to trust it again.

Option 3: Delete Old Version and Reinstall

If the overlay installation has issues, delete the old version first:

Step 1: Long-press the Binance app icon on your home screen, select "Remove App" then "Delete App."

Step 2: Download the latest installation package from official channels and install.

Step 3: Trust the enterprise certificate (if required).

Step 4: Open the app and log back into your account. Since all your trading data and asset information are stored on Binance's servers, deleting the app causes no data loss whatsoever.

Updating an App Installed via TestFlight

A small number of users may have installed a Binance beta version through Apple's TestFlight platform. In this case, updating is very simple:

Open the TestFlight app, find the Binance app — if a new version is available, an "Update" button will appear. Tap to update. TestFlight version updates aren't restricted by Apple ID region.

Important Notes When Updating

Back Up Your Authenticator

Before updating, make sure you remember your Binance account credentials and your Google Authenticator backup key. While updates normally don't affect your login status, it's better to be prepared just in case.

Network Environment

Use Wi-Fi for updates, as new versions typically range from tens to over a hundred MB. Mobile data is slower and may incur significant data charges.

Storage Space

If your iPhone's remaining storage is insufficient, the update may fail. Check storage before updating and clear unnecessary files if needed.

System Version Compatibility

New Binance app versions may raise the minimum iOS requirement. If the update fails with a system compatibility warning, you'll need to upgrade iOS first. Go to "Settings > General > Software Update."

What to Do After Updating

After the update completes, open the app and verify everything is normal:

Confirm login status: Check whether you're still logged in. If logged out, re-enter your credentials.

Check settings: Verify your customizations (language, notification preferences, chart configurations, etc.) are still intact. In most cases, these settings are preserved.

Explore new features: New versions may include feature changes. Spend a few minutes browsing to see if there are new additions or interface adjustments.

Verify assets: After logging in, check the "Assets" page to confirm your funds and positions display correctly. This data is all server-side, so app updates have zero impact — but confirming gives peace of mind.

If Problems Occur After Updating

If the new version causes issues (crashes, lag, missing features), try these steps:

Step 1: Fully close the app and reopen it.

Step 2: Restart your iPhone.

Step 3: If problems persist, use the web version in Safari for urgent trading operations while waiting for an official fix release.

Generally, if a new version has serious issues, Binance will release a fix update shortly. You can also follow Binance's official social media for the latest news.

Keeping your app on the latest version is a good habit. Check for available updates periodically to ensure you always have the best experience and strongest security protection.
